+ WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

The Ballroom Dancers Federation was formed more than 60 years ago.  Its formation was born out of the need for professional competitors to unite in order to raise the standards of conditions under which they competed.  Since those early days the role of the BDF in today’s dance world has evolved immeasurably.

+ WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE BDF?

The Voice The BDF are the voice of the professional and competitive ballroom dancer. As well as social, Pro/Am and social dancer.

Attention Any issues brought to us we will address and if need be bring to the attention of the British Dance Council on which we are representing our members.

Up To Date The BDF constantly keep up to date with what is happening in the dance world both nationally and internationally and always act in the best interest of the British dancer.

History The BDF is an organisation that was founded in 1946 and is still going strong today providing fabulous World Class competitions, National and International Congresses, Dance Events, the BDF Travel Fund and Training camps for all ages of British dancers.

+ WHO CAN JOIN?

You must have a UK residents address, or hold a UK passport (or be eligible to hold one) if resident abroad, to be eligible for BDF Membership

+ MEMBERSHIP RULES

• Full Members shall be entitled to attend all General Meetings of the Federation and shall be entitled to one vote, providing their application for membership has been accepted a minimum of one month preceding the meeting in accordance with Rule 7

• With the exception of Amateur and Professional Competitors, Full Members are eligible for nomination for the election onto the Executive Committee, subject to meeting the minimum period of membership set out in Rule 14.
