THE BDF STAR TITLES 2023

The BDF Star Titles for 2023 took place on the 29 th January and was held at Quick Quick Slow Dance Studio‘s in Stoke-on-Trent by the kind permission of Duncan and Hannah Trever
It was expertly organised on behalf of the BDF by David Douglas assisted by the Executive Committee. The day ran very smoothly with Ms Nicola Nordin as compere and Duncan Trever on music and scrutineer Kyle Blant Harwood. Therewas a good turnout for the events that were planned. The judges in attendance were Miss Carol McRaild, Miss Pam McGill, Mr Ben Taylor, Mr Martin Cutler, Mr
Richard Still, Ms Jane Phillips Bullock and Mr Dale Bennett.
The events were closely fought, ranging from juvenile and juniors all the way through to Youth and Amateur and the winners received Star Title trophies, with an overall winner of the events receiving a perpetual trophy which was kindly donated by David and Sue Douglas. The recipients of this trophy were Harry Le Fondre and Isabelle Burnett for being placed first in all Juvenile Open events .
The juvenile and junior events were the most well attended, resulting in double wins for both Harry and Isabelle in juvenile and also in the Junior the newly formed partnership of Enrique Adolphus and Isabelle Carlick who are quickly making their mark in the junior national events.
The Senior 1 Ballroom was won by Jonathan Noblett and Jennifer Kilheeney and the winner in Senior 1 Latin Al Valentine and Wendy Greenwood.
The Amateur ballroom was won by Cameron Robinson and Victoria Breus from Stoke-on-Trent and the Amateur Latin by Christian Skibsrud and Olivia Oates.
An enjoyable day was had by all who attended and the BDF would like to thank all the attendees for supporting the event.
